Style Pricing Guide

Comparative Pricing By Technique or Style

Many factors contribute to the price of an illustration, such as style, complexity and the quality of client-supplied reference. Each factor greatly affects the amount of work involved in an illustration. These guidelines will help you find a suitable style for your needs and budget. Because each project is unique, pricing is given in relative terms (i.e. if the Base Price were $500, Base Price x 2 would be $1,000).

Flat, Plan or Elevation Line Art Base Price This is the simplest style of illustration, showing a flat view of the top, front, side or cutaway section of an object.

Flat, Plan or Elevation Line & Tone Base Price x 1.5 A flat view of an object with simple tones applied for emphasis.

Flat, Plan or Elevation Rendering Base Price x 2 A flat view of an object, highly-rendered to describe colour, material and surface texture.

Isometric or Paraline Lineart Base Price x 1.5 A non-converging parallel projection drawing system that achieves a sense of depth while maintaining measurements. Example

Isometric or Paraline Line & Tone Base Price x 2 A parallel projection style with simple tones applied for emphasis.

Isometric or Paraline Rendering Base Price x 2.5 A parallel projection style, highly-rendered to describe colour, material and surface texture. Example

Perspective Line & Tone Base Price x 2.25 This style presents a natural view of an object with tone for added emphasis or realism.

Perspective Rendering Base Price x 2.75 This style presents a highly-rendered natural view of the exterior of an object. Example

Perspective Cutaway Rendering Base Price x 3 This style reveals the internal components of an object in highly-rendered natural view. Example

Perspective Phantom Rendering Base Price x 3.25 This style is slightly more complex than a Cutaway, since internal components must be fully rendered before being phantomed or ghosted. Example
